QUARANT'ANNI SENZA GIANCARLO SIANI

Durata: 90 min

Lingua: v.o.sott.ing.
Regia: Filippo Soldi
“Quarant’anni senza Giancarlo Siani” ripercorre una delle vicende più emblematiche della recente storia italiana, ponendo al centro non solo la memoria del giovane cronista, ma anche il contributo di chi ha lottato per restituire verità e giustizia a una vicenda troppo a lungo avvolta dal silenzio. Il film documentario è un racconto corale sull’impegno civile che continua a interrogare il presente e a ispirare nuove generazioni.
On September 23, 1985, at 9:30 p.m., Giancarlo Siani was murdered by the Camorra in the Vomero district of Naples, as he was returning home. He was 26 years old, a freelance journalist for the daily newspaper Il Mattino, covering organized crime and reporting with rigor and clarity on the ties between clans, politics, and the management of power in the territory. For years, his murder remained unpunished. It was only in 1993 that the truth began to emerge, thanks to the determined work of a group of young prosecutors, carabinieri, and investigators who, over time, would become known as the “Siani Pool.” Through a complex and relentless investigation, carried out with a deep sense of civic duty, they succeeded in identifying both the perpetrators and those who ordered the killing. Forty Years Without Giancarlo Siani retraces one of the most emblematic cases in recent Italian history, focusing not only on the memory of the young journalist but also on the contribution of those who fought to restore truth and justice to a story that had been shrouded in silence for far too long. The documentary is a collective account of civic commitment that continues to challenge the present and inspire new generations.
