Trama
Quando i Russi invadono l’Ucraina Valeria arriva in Italia con la mamma e il fratellino, accolta dalla nonna che vive in Italia da diversi anni. Comincia a frequentare una scuola a Milano, e fa subito amicizia con i suoi compagni. L’unico che le manca è il suo papà, giocatore di hockey, che in Ucraina gestisce una attività di macelleria. Lui ha deciso di restare in Ucraina, ma non di andare a combattere. Per lui Valeria ha una vera e propria adorazione, e forse anche per seguire l’esempio del padre lei si appassiona alla ginnastica ritmica e comincia a frequentare un corso con Anca Goia, campionessa olimpionica in Romania negli anni 90. Tra maestra e allieva nasce una bella amicizia, Valeria comincia a vincere medaglie d’oro e a sognare di diventare una brava atleta professionista.
